star image Mission

In our kindergarten, we encourage children to WONDER, THINK, FEEL and IMAGINE.

Our Mission

A kindergarten is the very first school a child attends and hence we place strong emphasis on our school atmosphere.

OUR VISION IS TO MAKE ST TERESA'S KINDERGARTEN AN EXTENSION OF THE HOME, WHERE A CHILD FEELS COMFORTABLE IN LEARNING AND INTERACTING WITH OTHER CHILDREN.

Our Vision

St Teresa's Kindergarten has created a safe, enjoyable and stimulating learning environment for children where they will:

  • Enjoy exploring and actively learn through real materials;
  • Have good coordination of basic motor skills;
  • Be able to work in small groups, establish friendships and develop good interpersonal skills;
  • Be able to express their creativity confidently and enjoy taking part in creative activities;
  • Gain self-confidence and develop positive self-esteem in themselves.
Age Group
  • K1 Class - 2 years 8 months before September
  • K2 Class - 4-5 years
  • K3 Class - 5-6 years
The Curriculum

St Teresa's Kindergarten uses "developmentally appropriate" teaching practices to suit both the needs and levels of the children. To put it simply, our teachers think first about what young children are like and then create an environment and experiences that are in tune with their characteristics.

Our teachers make learning relevant, interesting and fun. Children in our kindergarten learn through individual, small group teaching and whole class activities. They are encouraged to Wonder, Think, Feel and Imagine.

Our qualified and experienced Early Childhood teachers make use of thematic learning. The themes are related to daily life experiences, children's interests and current happenings. The main emphasis is on the key learning areas of English, Early Mathematics, Science, Arts and Crafts, Music, Cooking, Health, Physical Education and Personal Development.

Mandarin Program: Focuses on teaching children to develop good oral speaking skills in Mandarin. The daily Mandarin activities are inter-related around themes and consist of songs, games, stories and other creative activities.

Special Activities and Outings: To enhance what is taught in class, children are taken on out on school field trips to destinations, such as the Science Museum, Botanical Garden, Ocean Park, the beach among others places.

Parent Involvement: To aid and promote learning among children, parents are encouraged to participate and help during school activities and outings.
